En estos días se están difundiendo las nuevas calificaciones de Wine Advocate para los vinos de la Península Ibérica, catados durante julio de 2009 por Jay Miller. Hoy hemos conocido las puntuaciones recibidas por dos de nuestras más destacadas apuestas en la región del Priorat: los vinos de Salvador Burgos y Conxita Porta, Celler Burgos Porta (DOQ Priorat), elaboradores de Mas Sinén Negre y Mas Sinén Coster, ambas presentes en Panamá desde finales de 2008 y los vinos de la bodega de los hermanos Toni y Miquel Coca, Celler Coca i Fitó (DO Montsant), responsables de etiquetas como Jaspi y Coca i Fitó que se comercializan en Panamá desde finales del pasado 2009.

2007 Mas Sinen Coster - Rating: 94
The 2007 Coster Reserve is 50% Garnacha and 50% Carinena sourced from 50-year-old vines aged for 12 months in oak. Aromas of slate/mineral, espresso, black truffle, licorice, black cherry, and plum lead to a dense, packed, powerful, impressively constituted Priorat that will add complexity with another 4-5 years of cellaring. Drink this pleasure-bent powerhouse from 2014 to 2027.

2006 Mas Sinen Coster - Rating: 93
The 2006 Coster is composed of equal parts Garnacha and Carinena sourced from vines over 50 years of age. It offers additional complexity, greater depth, and additional aging potential. It will be at its best from 2012 to 2026.

2006 Mas Sinen Negre - Rating: 92
The 2006 Negre is a blend of 35% Garnacha, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Carinena, and 10% Syrah aged for 12 months in mostly French oak. Purple-colored, it offers up an aromatic array of crushed stone, spice box, violets, black cherry, and blueberry. On the palate it has plenty of succulent blue and black fruit, excellent depth of flavor, a bit of structure, and a lengthy finish. Drink it from 2011 to 2020.

2007 Coca I Fito Coca I Fito - Rating: 91+
The 2007 Coca I Fito is a blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Garnacha from 60-year-old vines and 20% Carinena from 40- to 50-year-old vines aged for 12 months in French and American oak. Purple-colored with a brooding bouquet of earth, tar, licorice, and assorted black fruits, on the palate it is full-bodied, rich, concentrated, and structured. This full-flavored, impeccably balanced Montsant will benefit from 2-3 years.

2007 Coca I Fito Jaspi - Rating: 89
The 2007 Jaspi is a blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Carignan, and 10% Tempranillo aged four months in French and American oak. Excellent aromas of mineral, black raspberry, and black cherry lead to an intense, ripe, spicy, full-bodied wine with layers of savory fruit. Drink this pleasure-bent effort over the next six years.

Nota de SDS: Las calificaciones de los vinos de ambas bodegas son excelentes, lo más interesante es que los vinos de Mas Sinén mantienen sus altas notas desde la primera añada de 2004 lo que demuestra su apuesta permanente de calidad y las excepcionales características de sus viejos viñedos de garnacha y cariñena enclavados en uno de los parajes más peculiares del Priorat, donde reina de forma majestuosa la mineralidad de las pizarras quebradas.

Para Coca i Fitó también las noticias son excelentes en su primera aparición en las valoraciones de Parker, destaca sobre todo los 89 puntos del joven y accesible Jaspi, lo que convierte a este vino en uno de los Best Value del año 2010.
